Acres is a landing page with a waitlist. The only thing we ask for is your email address, and this page explains exactly what happens to it. In short: we use it to tell you when your build is ready, we store it in the EU, we never sell or share it, and you can have it deleted at any time.
Who we are
This site is run by Alignya Solutions LLP (“we”, “us”), a company registered in Canada. We are the data controller for the waitlist described here. For anything about your data, email us at hi@getacres.app.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address — the one you type into the form.
- Which form you used — a short label (for example, the hero or the closing section) so we know where you signed up.
That is all we store. We don’t use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, or any other tracking on this site. Our database provider, Supabase, may briefly process technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver and secure your request, but we don’t keep it.
Why we collect it
We use your email address for one purpose: to add you to the Acres waitlist and email you when your build is ready, along with the occasional important launch update. Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form. Under Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL), submitting the form counts as your express consent to receive these messages. Every email we send will identify us and include a one-click way to unsubscribe.
The Acres app collects nothing
This policy covers the website only. The Acres app itself is local-first: no account, no telemetry, and your notes live in a folder you own. Joining the waitlist creates no account and installs nothing.
Where your data is stored
Waitlist emails are stored with Supabase, our database provider, on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). If you’re outside the EU, your email is transferred there for storage. Access is locked down so the waitlist can only be added to, not read, from the public site.
Who we share it with
No one. We don’t sell your data, we don’t share it with advertisers, and we don’t send it to third-party marketing tools. The only company that handles it on our behalf is Supabase, acting purely as our storage provider.
How long we keep it
We keep your email only while the waitlist is active. Once Acres launches and we’ve contacted everyone, we delete the waitlist — within about 90 days of launch at the latest. You can ask us to remove your email sooner at any time.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Ask what we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- Have it corrected or deleted;
- Withdraw your consent and unsubscribe.
Just email hi@getacres.app and we’ll take care of it. Depending on where you live, these rights come from laws such as Canada’s PIPEDA or the EU/UK GDPR. If you think we’ve mishandled your data, you can complain to a data protection authority — in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies & tracking
We use none. No cookies, no analytics, no fingerprinting — which is why you won’t see a cookie banner on this site.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, email us and we’ll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date above. For anything significant, we’ll let waitlist members know by email.
