If your canvas app is going away
Two spatial-thinking tools changed shape recently. Kosmik announced its sunset for May 31, 2026 — sign-ups are closed, and existing users can still download the app and export their workspaces. And Muse, the local-first canvas born at Ink & Switch, was renamed Allume in mid-2026 — a rename only, its maker says, with ownership and subscriptions unchanged — though the app has been a one-person operation since its original team handed it over in late 2023.
If that's you, the honest note first: Acres has no Kosmik or Muse importer today. The reason to move anyway is where your work ends up — notes as Markdown files, boards as readable JSON, in a folder you own. No shutdown, acquisition or pricing change can take that away. Export your text from the old app, drop the Markdown into an Acres vault, and it's adopted as cards you can lay out again.
