Acres becomes read-only until you buy. You can still open, search, read and export everything — your notes are Markdown files in a folder you own, and any other app can still edit them. Nothing is deleted and nothing is held.
Do I need an account or a license server?
No. The trial starts on first launch with no sign-up. A license is activated once — the only time Acres talks to our server about it — and then works offline, forever, even if we disappear.
How many computers?
All of yours. One license is personal — the machines you use, up to three activations at a time. When you move to a new machine, free a slot yourself in the receipt portal.
Do I get updates?
Every future update is included in the $59 license. Nothing on your own machine will ever move behind a subscription.
What will the license cost later?
$59 is the early-adopter price. After the early-adopter phase it is $99. A license you already bought is never affected.
Is the license an account?
No — it is a key. The app never asks you to sign in.
Lost your key?
